&lt;P&gt;Note I&amp;#8217;m using &amp;lt;&amp;#189; the valuation of MSI.&amp;nbsp; BKTI is gaining share and has a potential software angle but we don&amp;#8217;t really need that to justify investment here.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Thesis: &lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;This company is a niche player in the Land, mobile, radio (LMR) market.&amp;nbsp; Until recently they had a dominant position (95% share) in a part of the market that represents  7% over the overall industry(wildland fire).&amp;nbsp; The company has new management as of 2021.&amp;nbsp; They have launched new products in 2020 and 2023.&amp;nbsp; Their addressable market is expanding from that 7% to something approaching 30%+ of the market.&amp;nbsp; The company just crossed into profitability and with margins expanding and market share increasing, we are about to see operating leverage in the model and significant EPS growth on a very small shares outstanding number.&amp;nbsp; I expect significant share appreciation over the next 9-12 months.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;New Management:&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;CEO - John Suzuki was brought into the company after spending 35 years in the LMR market in rolls ranging from product development to supply chain management to leading sales &amp;amp; marketing and the CEO of competitor to BKTI which was eventually sold.&amp;nbsp; I&amp;#8217;ve spent several hours with John at several of their sites and he has an encyclopedic knowledge of where this industry has been and, more importantly, a clear vision of where it&amp;#8217;s headed.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;CFO - Scott Malmanger started in June 2022 after spending the previous 12 years as CFO of several companies, one of which had a very similar growth profile to what BKTI is experiencing.&amp;nbsp; I&amp;#8217;ve also spent time with Scott and believe he has strong handle on the numbers and it helping John drive the margin recovery that we see now.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Two new products:&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;Before these two products were launched, I estimate 98% of sales went into the wildland fire market.&amp;nbsp; This is a company that has increased their addressable market by 5-10X.&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;BKR5000 is a single band radio that is designed to replace their current offering into the wildland fire market but can also address new markets.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The company designs and sells LMR radios for the first responder market.&amp;nbsp; Historically they&amp;#8217;ve sold into the land wildfire market.&amp;nbsp; My estimate is this is less than 2% of the $2.3B LMR market.&amp;nbsp; The company has  250,000 radios in the field and they will last about 10-15 years.&amp;nbsp; I&amp;#8217;m using 10 years for two reasons: first because they were selling  23-25k of these per year, and second because the BKR5000 is likely accelerating the replacement of these radios.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Note that there are about 600,000-700,000 LMR radios sold in the US each year.&amp;nbsp; Most of these, say 85%, are single band radios.&amp;nbsp; Even this year with BKTI achieving 34k radio sales, it&amp;#8217;s still only 5.6% share of the overall market, on the high end.&amp;nbsp; For the BKR5000, I&amp;#8217;m estimating that in addition to replacement units, they are taking slight share into new markets that use single band radios, say 3000-4000 units.&amp;nbsp; We are coming off a year when they sold over 33k BKR5000&amp;#8217;s because they were working off a backlog built up during the supply chain issues.&amp;nbsp; My model remains below 29K BKR5000 units for &amp;#8217;24 and &amp;#8217;25.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;BKR9000 &amp;#8211; multi-band radio - For the 1st time, the company launched a product during 2H23 into the multi-band market with the BKR9000.&amp;nbsp; Motorola solutions pretty much owns this market.&amp;nbsp; The company has said that these clients care more about performance and requirements for the equipment than price so it may take some time to penetrate most of these clients.&amp;nbsp; They highlight that urban and suburban centers or about 2/3 of the market will continue to buy MSI radios for the foreseeable future.&amp;nbsp; For the 150 rural counties in the US where MSI doesn&amp;#8217;t have direct sales and uses resellers, BKTI can start to take share.&amp;nbsp; The sales pitch is that here is the first radio that competes with MSI on quality and features and instead of paying $5000-8000 for the MSI radio, the police department or sherriff&amp;#8217;s office can get a BKR9000 for $2500.&amp;nbsp; This message is resonating.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;During their 4Q call they disclosed that several agencies were making orders for the BKR9000.&amp;nbsp; Arkansas Department of Agriculture &amp;amp; Forestry bought 87 and then tripled their order.&amp;nbsp; Boulder County Colorado bought 315 for various fire departments.&amp;nbsp; These add to some of the orders they received in 3Q including the State of Hawaii, Sandoval County in New Mexico and the Bureau of Land Management.&amp;nbsp; The company has highlighted that there are 750 Tier 3 systems in mostly rural counties that will likely appreciate their cost-effective solution.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I&amp;#8217;m assuming a very slow ramp this year for the 9000 starting at 700 for 1Q and only assuming 4,000 units for the year before a more meaningful inflection next year.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Margin Improvement:&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The company got worked by supply chain issues during the pandemic, but their Gross Margin has been up now for 6 qtrs.&amp;nbsp; The ramp from 14% to 35.1% has been 75-80% about the supply chain issues normalizing and about 20-25% about cost down on their products.&amp;nbsp; We should continue to see progress this year as the cost downs continue and their new relationship with their contract manufacturer (East West) kicks in.&amp;nbsp; I expect GM&amp;#8217;s to ramp from 36.5% in 1Q to 41% in 4Q24.&amp;nbsp; While mix will be a tailwind, the units of the BKR9000 are pretty small this year.&amp;nbsp; Next year as demand inflects higher for their new product, we should see gross margins continue to improve to the high 40&amp;#8217;s.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If you look thru the 10Q&amp;#8217;s you will see that the company breaks down SG&amp;amp;A between sales&amp;amp;marketing, engineering and General G&amp;amp;A.&amp;nbsp; The development of the BKR9000 and a healthy amount of initial marketing/testing of the device is behind them.&amp;nbsp; I&amp;#8217;m assuming that the current run rate of $5.3mm is about the right number for SG&amp;amp;A.&amp;nbsp; I&amp;#8217;m actually using $5.4mm per qtr this year before it starts to ramp a bit into next year on potential new product development.&amp;nbsp; We&amp;#8217;ll see very good leverage over the next two years.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Because of this leverage, the company should pretty easily generate  $7mm in operating income and almost $9mm in EBITDA.&amp;nbsp; If they get &amp;#189; their working capital on inventory back thru their relationship with East West, this year show very strong FCF.&amp;nbsp; Like $20mm+ strong! (over $5/share) Next year with no change in working capital I&amp;#8217;m at&amp;nbsp; $19.5mm in operating income and $21mm in FCF next year.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Valuation:&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;OK, so this is a hardware company.&amp;nbsp; They have talked about a SAAS solution they&amp;#8217;ve developed and are marketing but I give no credit in the model or multiple for that.&amp;nbsp; I&amp;#8217;m using 10x EPS even though I think there is a chance for more while we all wonder how much share they can take and they show strong profits this year and double it next year.&lt;/P&gt;
